NFL Network’s Daniel Jeremiah thinks there are a number of interesting choices if the Broncos want to pick a skill-position playmaker on the first day of the 2025 NFL Draft.But after Thursday night, the talent won’t stop. Jeremiah also thinks there are Day 2 chances to locate a “Joker” guy to add to Head Coach Sean Payton’s system, even if the Broncos choose to target a different position with their first pick in the April draft.
Prior to the Combine, Jeremiah was asked to name three individuals who potentially play that position: a mismatch player in the passing game who may reveal a defense’s deficiencies.
Harold Fannin Jr. of Bowling Green is a good fit at tight end. Fannin was selected an All-American and caught 117 receptions for 1,555 yards and 10 touchdowns, earning him the 2024 MAC Player of the Year award.
“He’s just got a real knack for it, a real feel for it [regarding] creating separation,” added Jeremiah. Given that he is about to be inducted into the Hall of Fame, it is sacrilegious to say, but his movements and mannerisms remind me a lot of Antonio Gates. He has a distinctive way of moving. But you’re thinking, ‘How fast is this guy?’ Then you see him escaping from everyone and making a number of spectacular plays during [games against] Texas A&M and Penn State.”
