Former tennis champion Following an alleged affair, Ana Ivanovic is said to have filed for divorce from former Manchester United player Bastian Schweinsteiger.
According to reports, former Manchester United player Bastian Schweinsteiger and stunning former tennis star Ana Ivanovic have filed for divorce.
Throughout her illustrious career, Ana, 38, has won the French Open, advanced to the Australian Open final, and made it to the Wimbledon semifinals. After hanging up her racket she shacked up with Schweinsteiger, tying the knot in 2016.
However, when the couple reportedly parted ways early this year, Ana filed for divorce in November at a Munich District Court, according to German publication BILD. She also applied for child support in Palma de Mallorca, Spain, according to the newspaper.
Ana and her three boys, Teo, Leon, and Luka, reside in the Spanish city. In July, Christian Schertz, Ana’s representative, disclosed that the pair had broken up due to “irreconcilable differences.”
According to reports from Germany throughout the summer, Schweinsteiger was seen kissing an alleged new girlfriend; BILD stated that their relationship started in the summer of 2024.
Although Bunte said he wanted to “live freely,” he asserted that Ana was willing to pardon Schweinsteiger.
The duo met in 2014 when they were introduced by a common acquaintance, former Basketball player Steffen Hemman, in New York.
Regarding the encounter, the German acknowledged: “I listened to Ana a lot at first because I wasn’t that good at English when we met.” I anticipated what was going to happen and was a little defensive.
“At first sight, it was love. You sense unique moments and you can distinguish them when you gaze deeply into someone’s eyes – that’s exactly how it was with me.”
After renting out the park in London where Notting Hill was filmed, he would pop the question there.
In September 2024, the couple was last seen in public at the Laver Cup. However, they would post photographs attending a Christmas market later on in the year.
Before joining the Red Devils in 2015, Schweinsteiger played most of his career with Bayern Munich. He would play for Old Trafford for two seasons, scoring one goal in eighteen Premier League games.
The ex-German international moved on in 2016 when Chicago Fire in the MLS came calling, where he would retire in 2019.
