Due to an injury, former WWE United States Champion LA Knight has been sidelined “indefinitely.”
Fans watched as LA Knight and Bronson Reed clashed for nearly eight minutes during last week’s June 20th SmackDown edition, which sadly resulted in LA Knight’s disqualification. But in the last seconds of the fight, Reed and Bron Breakker ambushed the former US Champion without warning.
Fans have only seen Knight fight against Reed and Breakker in recent weeks, despite long-standing rumors that he will engage into a feud with Seth Rollins. Reed and Breakker made the decision to act after growing tired of The Megastar’s pranks over the past few weeks. Reed and Breakker outnumbered Knight and began a post-match assault after the disqualification victory.
Knight froze in the center of the squared circle as the former NXT North American Champion repeatedly threw many Tsunamis (top rope splashes) at him. LA Knight was sidelined with split rib cartilage and a damaged sternum, according to announcer Michael Cole earlier tonight on the June 23rd broadcast of Raw.
It usually takes two to three months to heal a separated rib cartilage, two to three weeks to heal a bruised sternum, and four to six weeks to heal more severe cases. Knight has not yet made a formal remark on the matter, and it is still unknown whether the injury is genuine or kayfabe.
We at ITR Wrestling wish LA Knight a speedy and safe recovery in the interim.
Hopeful for a Run for the WWE World Title, LA Knight
In an interview with Gorilla Position earlier this year, LA Knight expressed his aspirations for a future run for the WWE World title.
When asked whether he believes he will win a WWE World Title in the future, Knight said, “I don’t see how it’s not.” When asked if he believes that the powers that be see that for him, he responded, “I don’t care if they do.” That’s not a jab at them; I’m sure they didn’t think I would have reached where I did.
The firm will have an agenda, and people will see what they see. For me, it was simply, “Okay, well, I can’t worry about that,” since you won’t always be involved. I have to simply keep going because that’s what I have to do. It will be the best darn 30 seconds I can give them if I have them.
The brief periods of time they gave me, whether it was sixty, ninety, or any other length of time, were either spent with Bray Wyatt or with me floating off alone doing nothing for months on end following Bray Wyatt. I know we’re heading into the same issue, and I talk about it, I feel like, in every damn interview, and I hate that. It was just, “Okay, well, I’m going to make the damn best out of every single little bit that I got on here.”
