EXCLUSIVE : Like Wirtz, he can help Liverpool cut Diaz by acquiring “England’s best winger.”……..

Liverpool has already signed Jeremie Frimpong, the Werkself’s electrifying right flanker, after fulfilling his £29.5 million release clause, and is now finalizing a deal for Florian Wirtz of Bayer Leverkusen.

With the two Premier League clubs in advanced talks for the Hungarian’s transfer this summer, Milos Kerkez of Bournemouth should come next.

In addition to bringing in a new center forward, Liverpool may have to deal with one or two hesitant sales, the most notable of which is Luis Diaz.

Luis Diaz’s most recent

With 17 goals and eight assists for the Reds in all competitions this season, Diaz has been a crucial part of Liverpool’s Premier League victory.

However, if a good offer were made to FSG, it would make sense to cash in given he is 28 years old and approaching the last year. Richard Hughes, the sporting director, will undoubtedly be thinking about this since Barcelona and Al Nassr of the Saudi Pro League are both interested.

With a world-class player like Wirtz already on his way to Merseyside, Liverpool may use the money to invest in a new star after Al Nassr put together a bid of about €85 million (£72 million).

particularly when a young player who has been connected to a move to Liverpool in recent months could be the ideal long-term investment.

To replace Diaz, Liverpool might sign a player like Wirtz.

Even if Liverpool managed to acquire a new center-forward as well, Diaz’s departure would need the direct acquisition of a successor, as Cody Gakpo has solidified the left-sided forward position at the club.

Jamie Gittens, a winger for Borussia Dortmund who has had a bright Bundesliga debut, is someone FSG should think about pursuing more.

Former Yellow Wall manager Nuri Sahin has praised the 20-year-old as a “very good finisher” and said he is “incredible one-on-one.” Despite his youth, there is enough about him to suggest he could be the ideal Diaz heir.

Even if he still has levels to reach, Gittens has had a remarkable debut on the big stage. In fact, his smooth style has led data-driven website FBref to compare him to Wirtz.

Although Gittens is more of an out-and-out winger, you can see that he shares some of Wirtz’s ball-carrying traits as he was ranked in the top 1% for both progressive carries and successful take-ons per 90 and in the top 15% of Bundesliga attacking midfielders and wingers for goals scored in 2024–25.

Earlier in the season, Dougie Critchley of Sky Sports even declared him “England’s best left-winger in 2024/25″—high praise considering the caliber of opponents he faces.

That may not be evident in Thomas Tuchel’s newly chosen summer Three Lions team, but Gittens is still in the early stages of a bright future and has set the stage for something exceptional.

Gittens showed a persistent aspect to his game that could pay him in the Premier League this season, averaging 4.9 successful duels per top-flight match, according to Sofascore.

The same could be said for Wirtz, who combines a confrontational side with his tremendous technical skill. Gittens might be a good fit because the German has been analyzed by FSG’s analysts and is being pursued in a club-record deal.

Even though he won’t be the first item on Liverpool’s shopping list, this may be a wise move to maintain the champions performing well in the years to come.
