BREAKING NEWS : Ten people are killed and twenty-five injured in a British Columbian school shooting…….,

VANCOUVER, Canada — According to Canadian authorities on Tuesday, eight people, including the suspect, were killed in a shooting at a school in British Columbia. Two additional individuals were discovered dead at a house thought to be connected to the event.

The shooting at Tumbler Ridge Secondary School left over 25 people hurt, including two who were in critical condition, according to the Royal Canadian Mounted Police.

RCMP Superintendent Ken Floyd informed reporters that the motive of the suspect was still unknown, but that detectives had identified the gunman but would not provide a name.

Floyd stated, “We are not in a position to understand why or what may have motivated this tragedy.”

Police are still looking into the victims’ relationship to the shooter, he added.

There aren’t many school shootings in Canada.

About 2,400 people live in the community of Tumbler Ridge, which is located close to the Alberta border more than 1,000 kilometers (600 miles) north of Vancouver.

“Police entered the school to find the threat as part of the initial response to the live shooting. Several victims were found by the authorities throughout the search. In addition, a person thought to be the shooter was discovered dead from what appeared to be a self-inflicted wound, according to a statement from the RCMP.

Inside the school, six more people—not including the suspect—have been found dead. Two victims with severe or perhaps fatal injuries were transported to the hospital. A third victim passed away during the hospital journey.

The secondary school and Tumbler Ridge Elementary school were placed under “lockdown and secure and hold,” according to a statement released earlier Tuesday by the Peace River South School District.

At the legislature, Peace River South representative Larry Neufeld told reporters that the village has received a “excess” of resources, such as RCMP and ambulance assistance.

He stated that he was worried that disclosing any additional details would compromise the ongoing operation’s safety.

According to the provincial government’s website, Tumbler Ridge Secondary School has 175 pupils in grades 7 through 12.
