Even though WWE Evolution 2 is only a few weeks away, the first match has already been announced.
Stephanie Vaquer lost to Jacy Jayne a few weeks ago, and Jacy Jayne emerged victorious as the new NXT Women’s Champion. Following this, viewers saw Mariah May/Blake Monroe make her eagerly anticipated debut during Jayne’s championship celebration in last week’s June 3rd broadcast of NXT.
In the last hour of tonight’s NXT episode on June 10th, Jayne defeated Lainey Reid to successfully defend her title. But as Jayne was celebrating the bout, general manager Ava Raine emerged from the audience to declare Jayne’s official second championship defense. She verified that Jacy Jayne would now play a singles bout at Evolution 2 on June 13, 2025, to defend her NXT Women’s Championship.
In order to identify the top candidate for Jayne’s title at Evolution 2025, eight women will compete in four singles matches starting next week. The four winners will then face off in a deadly four-way match on the June 24th episode of NXT.
Participants are still being determined as of this writing.
It was just reported that Mariah May, now known as Blake Monroe, will formally sign her NXT contract next week and is strongly favored to face Jayne at the PLE.
Jacy Jayne Remembers Mistaking Mariah May, a New WWE Signing, for Tiffany Stratton
May’s debut last week seemingly confused Jacy Jayne, who mistook the former AEW Women’s Champion for Tiffany Stratton. Speaking Busted Open, Jacy Jayne recalled the hilarious situation.
My initial assumption was that it was Tiffany (Stratton). I thought, “Oh my God!” Tiffany is present. But after that, I thought, “Okay.” She doesn’t have a title, though. Tiffany is not possible. But I’m thrilled. I invite everyone to visit our division. This is just another opportunity for me to prove to everyone that I’ve improved, so let’s see if you can ha
ng with our division.
Aside from that, Logan Paul has talked about his recent Money in the Bank 2025 injury concern.
