The end of a forgettable 2024–25 season will be a relief to Manchester United.
The team must undergo a crucial summer reconstruction since European football is not in the cards. Although the pitch as a whole needs reinforcements, none are more desperately needed than up front.
This summer, Man Utd needs to strengthen a number of spots. The position that strikes out the most out of all of their problems is the striker position. The Red Devils can’t start a new season without a capable goal scorer on the team.
Fiorentina star Moise Kean is one player Man Utd has recently been linked to. According to Sport Mediaset, the Red Devils are prepared to pay the 25-year-old striker’s £43.5 million release clause in order to join him this summer.
Kean’s season with Fiorentina has been excellent. He has scored 25 goals and contributed three assists in 44 outings for the Italian team in all competitions. Only one season has passed since he made the permanent move from Juventus to Fiorentina.
The 25-year-old has, incidentally, previously participated in Premier League games. His tenure at Goodison Park was, to put it mildly, awful, although he did spend some time at Everton. Only four times was he able to find the net.
Nonetheless, the Kean who is now performing at Fiorentina is extremely different from the one that performed in Merseyside. His game has improved, he has a greater understanding of his skill set, and he is in much better shape to join a team of Man United’s caliber.
On paper, signing him—especially at this price—would make sense for the Red Devils. However, this will be a big risk for the English club, and it might not be the greatest idea to bet on another young attacker.
To lead the line, Ruben Amorim should ideally pick a Premier League scorer with a track record. It will be interesting to see if United chooses to take a chance on Kean or go with experience, but their summer plan needs to be well-thought-out.
