BREAKING NEWS : The confirmed replacement for Connor Zilisch is not Kyle Larson…….,

At Kansas Speedway, Kyle Larson will not take Connor Zilisch’s seat in this Saturday’s NASCAR Truck Series race.

After sustaining a back injury late in the race at Talladega Superspeedway the previous weekend, Connor Zilisch was unable to compete in this past weekend’s NASCAR Xfinity Series race at Texas Motor Speedway.

He is lucky that the next Xfinity Series action is scheduled for Saturday, May 24, when the series will visit Charlotte Motor Speedway.

In contrast, the 18-year-old from Charlotte, North Carolina, had intended to participate in the Truck Series race at Kansas Speedway on Saturday night, which would have been his first Truck Series start since the previous year. However, he has decided not to do so.

After competing in two races for the team earlier this year, Kyle Larson, who took his place in his full-time No. 88 JR Motorsports entry at Texas, had been confident that he could be asked to take Zilisch’s position in the No. 07 Spire Motorsports truck on Saturday. He finished second at Bristol Motor Speedway and first at Homestead-Miami Speedway.

But the driver of the No. 07 Chevrolet on the entry sheet for this 134-lap Heart of Health 200 over the four-turn, 1.5-mile (2.414-kilometer) Kansas City, Kansas circuit is William Byron, a teammate of Larson’s in the Hendrick Motorsports Cup Series.

At Martinsville Speedway earlier this season, Byron made one start for Spire Motorsports and finished in 14th place.

The club’s other shared entry, the No. 7 Chevrolet, will see Carson Hocevar, who plays full-time for the team in the Cup Series, start the Truck Series for the second straight time. At Texas, he came in at number 17.

The No. 07 Chevrolet will be driven by Kyle Busch for Spire Motorsports in the Truck Series race that is set for next Saturday at North Wilkesboro Speedway. However, the No. 7 truck’s driver is still unknown.

Busch is scheduled to drive the No. 7 Chevrolet in the race in Charlotte the following weekend, but the driver of the No. 07 Chevrolet is still unknown.
